For the majority of the night on Saturday night, it seemed all but a certainty that the LSU Tigers, one of the top powers in the SEC, would be embarrassed on the neutral field in Houston by the Wisconsin Badgers from the Big Ten. Well, you never count out a Les Miles coached team, and that applied once again on Saturday night as LSU fought back for a 28-24 win.

At one point, the Tigers were down 24-7 in this one early in the third quarter, but that’s when they would say enough was enough and rattle off 21 straight points to leave with the victory and start the year off right.
LSU would finish off the third quarter with two field goals to cut it to 24-13, then they followed that up with a touchdown pass from Anthony Jennings early in the fourth quarter to John Diarse for 35 yards and the six points, followed by the much-needed two-point conversion.
With 9:41 left to go in the fourth quarter, Kenny Hilliard would burst through the Wisconsin defense for 28 yards and what would be the game-winning touchdown.
In his first start this season, Jennings was shaky at times, but he showed the poise that it takes to lead this Tigers team, finishing up with 238 yards passing and two scores. Hilliard led the way in the rushing category, ending up with 110 yards on 18 carries.
It wasn’t pretty, but it’s a move to 1-0 for the Tigers on the season.
