Philadelphia 76ers rumors: What is the 76ers’ plan?
Although the Philadelphia 76ers did not have the worst record in the NBA last season (the Milwaukee Bucks were 15-67), they looked like the worst team in basketball at the end of the season. They dealt away nearly all of their veterans and this offseason they finished the job, sending forward Thaddeus Young to the Minnesota Timberwolves as part of the Kevin Love trade.

Jabari Davis of Basketball Insiders tries to make sense of the 76ers’ plan.
"Attempting to make sense of some of the things Philadelphia has been doing is a bit of an exercise in futility. Of course, they know what their overall plan is…but it isn’t very clear for those of us watching from the sidelines. That said, they did get a second round pick out of the deal as well, but it is protected. We’ll see how things pan out over the next few seasons in Philly, but they’ll eventually be expected to actually do something with all those young players they are stockpiling."
There is certainly young talent in Philadelphia but the 76ers are going to be in for another long season. Their two first round draft picks, former Kansas Jayhawks’ center Joel Embiid and Croatian forward Dario Saric, may not play this year. Embiid could miss the season after having offseason foot surgery and Saric will not play in America for at least one more season, possibly two.
