The Wisconsin Badgers not only suffered a devastating loss on the field Saturday night when they blew a 17-point lead in an 28-24 loss to the LSU Tigers, they also lost one of their top defensive linemen to a frightening injury.
But the Badgers’ official Twitter account reported Sunday morning that senior defensive end Konrad Zagzebski has been released from a Houston area hospital and will fly back to Madison, Wis., with the team.
Happy to report that senior DL Konrad Zagzebski has been released from the hospital & will travel home with us on the plane. #Badgers

Zagzebski was taken off the field on a stretcher after a collision in Saturday’s game. He gave a thumbs-up sign as he was wheeled off, but the game was delayed for a few minutes as players on both sides took a knee and looked on with concern.
Zagzebski made one tackle Saturday night before he was hurt.
He started three games a year ago for the Badgers, making 19 tackles—two for losses. He’s more of a run stopper than pass rusher—in three seasons and 30 games, he has 25 tackles and no sacks.
A fifth-year senior from Weston, Wis., Zagzebski is a two-year letterman for4 the Badgers and had a career-high four tackles in Wisconsin’s loss to Ohio State last Sept. 28.
One of the top recruits in Wisconsin as a senior in 2009, he played in the Under Armour All-American Game.
