Houston Astros fire manager Bo Porter
By Josh Hill
The Houston Astros are once again a laughing stock in the MLB and that has cost their skipper his job. As the team prepares to rebuild and re-tool for the future, manager Bo Porter has been fired and will be replaced by Tom Lawless.

Astros fans will be happy to be rid of Porter as he was a mere 110-190 in his career with the team — hardly a mark worth fighting for in the front office. The move was likely to come either now or at the end of the season but with just a month of games left, now was as good a time as any.
The hope in Houston now is that the Astros will be able to pull themselves out of this funk they’ve been in for years. It’s been eons since the team was anything close to respectable as the Astros have fielded bad minor league teams and shown no signs of getting better.
There is light at the end of the tunnel though, but the fact of the matter is wholesale changes needed to come and Bo Porter likely won’t be the last guy to lose his job in Houston.
