Tyson Chandler says his heart was always with Dallas Mavericks
By Josh Hill
The Dallas Mavericks acquired Tyson Chandler this summer from the New York Knicks and are trying to gear up for another run at an NBA title. Ironically, the last time the Mavs won the NBA Finals it was against LeBron James — who is favored to get back with the Cleveland Cavaliers — and Tyson Chandler was with the Mavs helping to lead the way.

Call it a coincidence or what have you, but Chandler being back in Dallas is huge for the Mavericks in more than one way. But it’s also huge to Chandler as well, because Dallas meant a lot to the veteran center and his return and what it means isn’t lost on him at all.
According to Dwain Price of the Star-Telegram, Chandler may have physically left Dallas but he left his heart there when he did.
"“I enjoyed my entire time with the Mavericks and it was a sad process for me and my family leaving Dallas, especially after the amazing experience and amazing run that we had,’’ said Chandler, who was shipped back to Dallas this summer. “As I left I told those guys, ‘You know, I love you and I’ll love you forever and I love everything you have done for me and did for me.’ I understand the (NBA) business and I guess it wasn’t meant for me. But I guess it is meant for me to be back now.’’"
Chandler was a monster for the Mavericks when he was with them and was instrumental in getting them to the NBA Finals. That’s where many want to see him return and while it’s going to be a tough road to travel, Chandler seems ready to go the distance.
Dallas may not win the NBA Finals this year, but having Chandler back is going to no doubt be a game changer for the Mavs.
