Corey Linsley is likely a player you have yet to hear of unless you are a Green Bay Packers or Ohio State football fan. Linsley was selected in the fifth round of this past May’s NFL draft, and once the Packers starting center JC Tretter incurred a fracture in his knee during the preseason, Linsley was thrust into the starting center position.

In his first game as an NFL player, Linsley will have the uber tough task of playing against the stout defensive lineman of the Seattle Seahawks and the twelfth man at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.
To make matters even worse for Linsley, he has yet to snap the ball to Aaron Rodgers in real game action, as the two were not on the field together in the preseason.
Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin knows it is going to be a long night for Linsley, and he joked that he will be praying for him tomorrow night.
“I’m going to pray for him,” Irvin told ESPN. “It’s going to be a long night, man. We’ve got to just take advantage of it. All the weaknesses that [Linsley] shows us, we’ve got to expose it,” Irvin continued. “Hopefully, Bane going to do what I know he’s going to do to him. So, we’ve just got to be ready.”
Bane is Irvin’s nickname for the powerhouse Seahawks nose tackle Brandon Mebane, who is more than likely going to make Linsley’s night a very bad one indeed.
Linsley will have to step up big time if he hopes to keep Rodgers upright and in the pocket. It is a tough task, but we will find out if Linsley is up to the challenge tomorrow night.
