Now that LeBron James and Kevin Love are in Cleveland, Cavaliers’ guard Dion Waiters will have to change his game. Waiters will need to become less of a slasher and ball dominator and more of a shooter in order to help the Cavaliers’ offense truly flourish and if he is willing to accept that role, it could do wonders for his career.

Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio reports that Waiters is trying to become less selfish and believes that he can eventually become an All-Star.
"I think he can still be an All-Star player, but he may not get to the game because the league kind of frowns on having four games from the same team. He is likely to be the odd man out. How does he handle it? It will be interesting to find out.I can tell you this: He is determined to prove he’s more than just a “selfish” player. (For the record, I don’t think he is.) Waiters is close with LeBron, Kyrie and (especially) Love, too. All of those things, and a new coach, should help him immensely.Interesting story with no real point: Last year during practice, Waiters was killing it, unstoppable in a scrimmage. After one basket, he looked over at Mike Brown and smiled widely. Brown just shook his head and said, “You know I don’t care about that.” In other words, Brown wanted Waiters to worry about D."
Waiters has somewhat of a bad wrap, which is why many believed he would be traded. However, James is a Waiters fan and is excited about helping him expand his game. It will be hard for Waiters to become an All-Star when he is only the fourth-best player on his team, but that doesn’t make it impossible.
Waiters put up 15.9 points, 3.0 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 0.9 steals per game while shooting 43.3% from the floor, 36.8% from beyond the arc and 68.5% from the free throw line last season. Waiters, who was the fourth-overall pick by the Cavaliers in the 2012 NBA Draft, has put up 15.3 points, 3.0 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 0.9 steals per game while shooting 42.4% from the field, 34.2% from three and 71.4% from the charity stripe.
