Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said that the team’s decision to sign defensive end Michael Sam was “only about football.”

That idea seemed laughable when reports began to surface that the Cowboys were planning on selling Sam’s practice squad jersey to the public.
The Cowboys don't normally sell jersey's of practice squad players available at the pro shop. But per a source, they will do so with Sam

Now, it appears such a rumor is untrue. Multiple outlets are now reporting that Dallas will not be selling Sam’s jersey.

Cowboys tell PFT that report they will sell Michael Sam's No. 46 practice squad jersey is not correct.

It’s the right move for Dallas. It would be hard to argue that the Cowboys weren’t simply signing Sam as a means to profit off of his celebrity if it were planning on selling his practice squad jersey. If Dallas wants to treat Sam like any other player in the locker room, then they simply couldn’t go through with this.
Sam was the SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2013 as a member of the Missouri Tigers. The St.Louis Rams drafted him in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL Draft, but ultimately released the defensive end last Saturday.
