An up/down bullpen session simulates the pace of a game, where a pitcher throws several pitches, rests for eight minutes, then gets up and throws again.
Harvey last pitched on Aug. 24, 2013, and had Tommy John surgery in September.
He is not expected to pitch this season, but it is hoped he will be ready to go at the start of spring training and begin the 2015 season in the starting rotation.
Harvey was the All-Star Game starter for the National League at Citi Field in 2013 and before he was hurt was in the Cy Young Award conversation. In 26 starts in 2013, Harvey was 9-5 with a 2.27 ERA and 0.931 WHIP in 178.1 innings, with 191 strikeouts.
Harvey was the seventh overall pick by the Mets in the 2010 amateur draft out of the University of North Carolina and made his debut in 2012.
He made 10 late-season starts for the Mets that season, going 3-5 with a 2.73 ERA and 1.146 WHIP in 59.1 innings, striking out 70.
In 2013, Harvey allowed the fewest home runs per nine innings among NL qualifiers, 0.353.
