Buffalo Bills

Projecting the Buffalo Bills is basically an exercise in evaluating your feelings on quarterback EJ Manuel. The 24-year-old from Florida State was less than spectacular (58.8% completion, 11 TD, 9 INT) in his rookie season at the helm, and he holds the keys to the empire offensively for Buffalo. The preseason returns haven’t been stellar, and with first-round pick Sammy Watkins banged up with injury and no other clear option for explosiveness through the air, the prognosis isn’t fantastic.

Defensively, the Bills were actually very good last season (4th in DVOA, 4th against the pass), but Buffalo did lose their best defensive back in safety Jairus Byrd, and some of the veterans are simply a year older. The addition of linebacker Brandon Spikes could help to fortify them against the run, but as long as the offense ranks near the bottom of the league, the overall upside is limited, and that keeps them buried in the AFC East.

The Pick: 5-11
