The Green Bay Packers kick off the season on Thursday and they’ll already be without three players, Pro Football Talk reports. Tight end Brandon Bostick, center J.C. Tretter and cornerback Demetri Goodson have all been ruled out for Thursday Night Football against the Seattle Seahawks.

Tretter isn’t anywhere near a return and may end up on the Packers’ injured reserve with the designation to return because of his knee injury. His status isn’t looking good, and it could be a difficult loss for the Packers. The center was slated to start. Rookie fifth round pick Corey Lindsley will likely start in his stead. Tretter sustained a fracture to his left knee during the Packers’ Aug. 22 preseason game against the Oakland raiders.
“The timeline is such that it would make sense to designate him for return,” Tretter’s agent, Alan Herman, said Tuesday via ESPN.com.
Brandon Bostick is also noteworthy as he could very well be the Packers starting tight end when he returns. Bostick is an strong and athletic pass catcher. After the departure of Jermichael Finley, the Packers are left wanting in the tight end department. Andrew Quarless and Richard Rogers will be given the snaps on Thursday. He suffered a slight fractured his right fibula in the Packers preseason game against the St. Louis Rams.
Goodson needs to get cleared through the concussion protocol before he can return to the field.
