The Seattle Seahawks are coming of one of the most dominant performances in Super Bowl history, and the franchise’s first Vince Lombardi Trophy. There is a lot to be optimistic about for the Seahawks heading into the first game of the NFL regular season on Thursday night when they take on the Green Bay Packers.

More from Green Bay Packers

The game of course is a rematch of the controversial 2012 game when the Seahawks won thanks to what is called the “Fail Mary.” The NFL was using replacement officials and a Packers player and a Seahawks player seemingly caught the ball in mid-air together and were fighting for control as they came down to the turf. One referee signaled touchdown and the other one waved it off, there was also a pass interference call that should’ve been made against Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Golden Tate.

Instead the Seahawks got the touchdown and won the game 14-12.

Despite that game’s down to the wire finish, Seahawks fans are confident that they’ll win this game. In a poll on the Seattle Timeswebsite, roughly 56 percent of Seahawks fans voted that they’ll win a close game against the Packers. Roughly 29 percent of fans think it will be a romp in the Seahawks favor.

All in all 85.63 percent of Seattle Times readers think that the Seahawks will win the game, which isn’t necessarily too surprising. Check out the results of the poll from the Seattle Times below, or go to the Seattle Times‘s website to cast your own vote.
