Tom Brady no comment on Wes Welker suspension
By Dan Zinski
Tom Brady was pretty straight-forward – and you could even say terse – when responding to questions about ex-teammate Wes Welker’s four-game suspension for PEDs.

Brady was understandably unwilling to discuss Welker’s issues, saying his focus is on this week’s opponent the Miami Dolphins (via the Boston Herald):
"“I don’t have a lot of thoughts or comments on that,” Brady said. “That’s Wes’ situation, and their team. Obviously, I’ve got plenty to worry about with this week and this team. As a friend, you always hope the best. But, this is not friend time. It’s opponent time. My focus is on the Dolphins.”"
Reports are swirling that say Welker’s failed drug test was caused by an amphetamine-laced Molly he either took willingly or was slipped while attending the Kentucky Derby.
Brady happened to be at the Kentucky Derby as well, but if he knows anything about what Welker did or didn’t take, he’s clamming up about it.
"“I got no comment on that, no,” he said."
Brady and Welker formed a dynamic duo for several years in New England (outside of that one unfortunate drop in the Super Bowl) before Welker took his game to the Peyton Manning-led Broncos in 2013.
Welker, Peyton and Denver went to the Super Bowl last year, while a Welker-less Brady found himself watching the game on TV.
With Welker on the shelf for the first four games of the season, the Broncos may have a slightly more difficult time getting out of the gate, but you can’t imagine the loss of Welker will represent that big a stumbling block for the team in the long run.
Brady meanwhile is still searching for new targets to help him get back to the Super Bowl, and hopefully win this time.
