Part of that is getting in to newer territories and recruiting the south in a very hard way. On Wednesday, Louisville dipped in to the state of Mississippi for a third commitment in the class of 2015.
Trey Smith, a 3-star running back from Madison (Madison Central), Miss. announced his commitment to the Cardinals via his Twitter account.

He also just so happens to be the son of former Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Jimmy Smith, so football runs in the family.
Smith was supposed to visit for Louisville’s season-opener against Miami (FL), but missed a flight thanks to football practice running long according to a report in the Louisville Courier-Journal.
He was rated a 3-star running back by Scout.com and shows up as 3-star on 247Sports.com (but not on his personal profile).
Smith was long considered a lean to Louisville, after receiving offers from Memphis and Mississippi State. He also was receiving interest from the likes of Arizona State, Florida State and Texas among others.
Louisville is still working on building classes up to the standard of the ACC, ranking No. 12 in the conference for the 2015 class and No. 41 overall in the country according to 247Sports.
