The NFL is trying to expand it’s audience beyond the realm of males who like beer, cheese and fart jokes to get as many eyes on the sport as possible.

Female fans are starting to invest more and more into the NFL as the sport becomes more popular and already they’re showing more smarts than male fans who have been watching the game for decades.
According to Fanatics, the best selling female jersey in the NFL is San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick which makes sense not in the sexist way you’re probably saying to yourself right now, but because he’s one of the rising talents in the league.

What’s even more interesting is that Dallas Cownoys tight end Jason Witten is the No. 10 best selling women’s jersey but isn’t even in the top 25 for men’s jersey sales.
NFL player whose jersey is disproportionately purchased in women's cut? Jason Witten. Not in top 25 of overall sales, #10 w/women.

This isn’t surprising information as female NFL fans are clearly the smarter of the two sexes. While male jersey sales spiked with Johnny Manziel uniforms, the female sales chart shows a much more intelligent approach with Russell Wilson, Peyton Manning and Jason Witten — over Tony Romo — topping the list off.
