The career of defensive back Champ Bailey has been one that will eventually see him enshrined in Canton, but for now he’s just trying to get a job to make sure he doesn’t have to give up the game he loves on anyone’s terms but his own.

He was part of the Clinton Portis trade between the Denver Broncos and Washington Redskins back in the early 2000s and he became one of the best lockdown cornerbacks in the NFL during his career. But he deteriorated with the Broncos over the last few years and didn’t even make it through the offseason with the New Orleans Saints before he was cut.
Now the Detroit Lions are looking into bailey to see if he has what it takes to help their growing defense.

The Lions may not find that Bailey has anything left but the interest in him from the Broncos to the Saints and now Lions show how well respected Bailey still is, even at his age. Bailey might have something left, but if he doesn’t then he has nothing to be ashamed about after what he’s accomplished in his long and storied career.
