While Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston had no charges brought upon him by authorities after he was accused of sexual assault nearly two years ago, the university has apparently begun looking into the case on their own, even interviewing the woman who originally accused the Heisman winner of the act.

Just last month the school sat down with the alleged victim and her lawyer, John Clune, and Clune seems to believe that things could be on the right track.
“We thought it went very well,” he said. “The school seemed to take it very seriously.”
At this time, the school is not commenting on the inquiry due to privacy laws, however they will more than likely release something when their investigation is complete.
Clune spoke a little bit more about the probe, and what the school is looking to get out of it.
“There are some good people who want to do the right thing on one side of campus, then you have one of the most powerful athletic departments in the country on the other side of the campus with the No. 1 football team in the nation. I think we will find out pretty quickly how that struggle will shake out.”
The charges were brought to light last season when Winston and the ‘Noles were in the midst of a national championship run, and the sophomore quarterback was cleared of the charges toward the end of the season.
