The winning ways as of late though have helped soothe fears that NBA seasons will be wiped out by World Cup participation but those fears came back on Thursday. Cleveland Cavaliers star guard Kyrie Irving went up easy but came down hard on his hip, prompting immediate flashbacks to the Paul George injury.

Thankfully, the injury looked a lot worse than it was, as Irving tweeted out that he was fine and that the fall wasn’t anything serious.
Irving has bigger things in his future than winning a World Cup this year, which is why seeing him go down was so hard to see. But now that we all know he’s fine, everyone in Cleveland can breath easy but the Irving fall was not what Team USA needed to see now that it’s just getting past the George injury.
