Doc Rivers was unable to land Ray Allen — for now — and Paul Pierce in the offseason but two interesting names have been added to the roster. After inking Ekpe Udoh to a one-year deal, the Clippers have reportedly agreed to sign Chris Douglas-Roberts to a contract as well.
Clippers beat writer Dan Woike was the first to report the Douglas-Roberts signing.
This now marks two veteran free agents that the Clippers have grabbed after they started to gain traction with other contenders. The Miami Heat brought in Douglas-Roberts and had interest in Udoh as well but both are now on their way to Los Angeles to help out the Clippers.
It’s unclear what specific roles either player will have with the Clippers but both Udoh and Douglas-Roberts are veterans who seem like they can help a team in the right situation and at the right time. That’s what the Clippers are paying for anyways and only time will tell if it works out.
