The NBA is a worldwide phenomenon on the rise. It’s not as big as professional football stateside, it’ll probably never compete with soccer globally and “America’s pastime” will probably continue to be baseball for awhile but professional basketball is insanely popular around the world, especially once those action-packed playoffs roll around.
However, it’s not a perfect league by any means. NBA commissioner Adam Silver is more than aware of that fact, and has already impressed the basketball community with his intellect, his passion for the game, his desire to make it better and his delivering on actions to make the NBA a better league. Silver is already the best commissioner in professional sports and is fully committed to enacting change to improve the association. Here are five changes that should be at the top of his list.
Honorable Mention: Blood testing for steroids. Every professional sports league needs this. You’re not going to tell me Hedo Turkoglu was the only one in the last decade to be juicing. You’re just not.
