The Phoenix Suns were one of the big surprises last season, finishing 48-34, one game out of the playoffs. The biggest reason for their success was point guard Goran Dragić, who had the best season of his career.

Cody Taylor of Basketball Insiders wonders if Dragić is in for another big season.

"The Suns were under no pressure last season to make the playoffs, but nearly locked in a playoff spot largely in part to Dragic’s season. The Most Improved Player of the Year increased his scoring from 14.7 to 20.3 points per game, which was the result of shooting 51 percent from the field and 41 percent from three-point range. The most impressive thing with Dragic’s improvement last season is that his role mostly remained the same with the Suns. His minutes only increased on average by two per game from the previous season but he still made significant jumps in key statistical areas. It’ll be tough to predict whether or not Dragic is in store for another season like that with Eric Bledsoe remaining on the team (for now) and the arrival of Isaiah Thomas, but teams will surely be watching Dragic whenever he’s on the floor."

Provided the Suns re-sign Bledsoe, the Suns three best players will all be point guard and Dragić may not see the ball quite as much as he did last season, which really could hurt his production.

Dragić put up 20.3 points, 5.9 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 50.5% from the floor, 40.8% from three and 76.0% from the charity stripe last season. In his six-year career, Dragić has gone for 11.5 points, 4.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 46.1% from the floor, 36.5% from three and 74.7% from the foul line.
