Seahawks’ Jeremy Lane exits opening game with groin injury
By Hayden Kane
The Seattle Seahawks’ defense has mostly picked up where they left off last season in their opening game of 2014. Playing at home against the Green Bay Packers, the defense has held Aaron Rodgers and company to just 10 points well into the second half of this one.

Like they were in 2013 en route to a Super Bowl championship, the Seattle defense has been keyed by the play of their secondary, the men known as the Legion of Boom. Also like last season, that quality of play is coming from all members of the secondary, even those who are not as well known as star players like Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas.
One such understated player, cornerback Jeremy Lane, was forced to exit the game early with what was reported to be a groin injury.
As is the case with any corner on the field at the same time as the aforementioned Sherman, Lane was kept busy in this game before his exit. Knowing the depth of the Seahawks in recent seasons, I’m sure they just have some other big talented guy who will step in there to take his place as Seattle tries to start 2014 off with a victory.
