The Green Bay Packers lost their regular season opener to the Seattle Seahawks and they lost starting offensive lineman as Bryan Bulaga was injured in the 36-16 loss and is out indefinitely with a torn MCL, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Bulaga, 25, missed last season with a torn ACL and now must go through the arduous road of rehabbing another knee ligament with his return date unknown. MCL tears don’t have to repaired surgically but Bulaga figures to miss a “month or more” according to Rotoworld.

Schefter later tweeted an update saying the Packers don’t believe the injury is serious and he is “should not miss much time.”

Former first round pick Derek Sherrod will take his place in the starting lineup and he struggled last night in the loss to the Seahawks, so the Packers offensive line is in a bit of a quandary as they have to consider moving guard TJ Lang outside to tackle if the former Mississippi State left tackle can’t perform at a higher level.

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy will meet the media at 4:30 and a could offer a time frame for when Bulaga may be able to return to the field for the team.

Green Bay also said running back Eddie Lacy suffered a concussion in the opener, but with a long week ahead of them after the Thursday start are optimistic he won’t have to miss next week’s game.

But he will now be running behind an offensive line without one of its best run blockers and could be forced to shake up the starting five if they can’t open holes for him and protect Aaron Rodgers.
