Many in the football community were expecting big things from Arizona Cardinals running back Andre Ellington this season. The back rushed for 652 yards on just 118 carries last year and with Rashard Mendenhall no longer in Arizona, Ellington would enter this year at the clear-cut No. 1 back on the team.

But Ellington’s chances for a breakout season have taken a major hit with him possibly having suffered a serious foot injury. Mike Jureki of Fox Sports was the first to suggest Ellington “could be out extended period of time” after aggravating his left foot on Thursday.
Now, Jureki is providing a timetable for just how long that period of time could last.
As for Andre Ellington time frame a lot will depend the how quickly he heals, could be 4-6 weeks or longer depending on further prognosis.

Regardless, Ellington’s situation turned scary in a hurry and it’s clear he’s in pain, even if he somehow finds a way to suit up on Monday.
