Todd Gurley rushed for 198 yards and three touchdowns and added a 100-yard kick return for a touchdown in the Georgia Bulldogs win over the Clemson Tigers to start his season off with a bang after nagging injuries throughout his sophomore season last year.

Gurley played 10 games last year but was never really 100 percent after he was injured in the opener last year against Clemson after he was banged up on a 75-yard touchdown run on his first carry of the year.
His production slipped to 989 yards and 10 touchdowns after 1,385 yards and 17 touchdowns as a freshman. However, don’t call the 6-1, 236-pound running back injury-prone.
"“People are always going to have something to say if it’s negative,” Gurley said. “You could run the ball 100 times and fumble once, and they’re going to talk about the fumble. It’s football. People get hurt.“Peyton Manning got hurt. So did Tom Brady and Adrian Peterson. Stuff happens. You just come back even stronger.”"
Come back even stronger is what he did against Clemson when he averaged 13.2 yards per carry and set a new school record with his 293 all-purpose yards, breaking the record previously held by Rodney Hampton.
If Gurley can maintain his health and put up performances like he had against Clemson during the SEC schedule, then Georgia could have their first Heisman winner since Herschel Walker won the award in 1982 in his junior season.
