The Seattle Seahawks got a convincing win over the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t any negative takeaways from the game. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll was critical of his heralded defenses tackling, in particular when it came to Packers running back Eddie Lacy.

“I was disappointed that we bounced off the guy as much as we did,” Carroll said, via the team’s website. “We tried to hit him more than tackle him and that’s why he was a little more effective than he should have been. [Lacy] only gained [34] yards, so it’s no big deal, but our expectations are higher than that. Those guys will all look at that film and they’ll all be disappointed that they didn’t stay with the tackling plan that we had.”
It is hard to find fault in their performance, but it there is remove to improve for the Seahawks that certainly spells trouble for the rest of the league.
Keep in mind that Lacy ran the ball 12 times for just 34 yards, an average of less than 3 yards per carry. He did have one carry for 15 yards on top of that, one carry responsible for nearly half of his total yardage in the game.
