Pitt vs. Boston College final score: Panthers roll to 30-20 win over Eagles
By Jack Crosby
Coming into the 2014 college football season there were a lot of people that saw the Pittsburgh Panthers as the favorites to dethrone the Duke Blue Devils in the ACC Coastal Division. And so far through two games, they are certainly looking the part. On Friday night, the Panthers followed up their win last week over Delaware with a convincing outing against Boston College, coming away with a 30-20 win.

At the end of the first quarter, the Eagles actually held a 7-3 advantage in this one after a Tyler Rouse touchdown run with about nine minutes left to go in the opening period, but from the second quarter on, it was all Panthers from there. And once again, the onslaught was led by sophomores Tyler Boyd and James Conner.
Conner was unstoppable out of the backfield once again, rushing the ball 36 times for 214 yards and a touchdown, while consistently bouncing off of prospective Boston College tacklers. This young man continues to stake his claim as one of the best running backs in the nation, and it’s starting to become undeniable.
Boyd caught five passes for 72 yards from his wide receiver position, and he was able to find the end zone twice in the huge win.
Quarterback Chad Voytik struggled early on in this one, but he eventually settled in to finish 10-of-20 for 111 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
But again, it’s becoming clearly evident that the Panthers are more than likely going to make some waves in the ACC this season, and a date with Florida State this December is not completely out of the cards.
