Report: Sam Bradford’s future with Rams is ‘uncertain’
By Sam Richmond
When the news first broke that St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford tore his ACL this preseason and would miss the entire 2014 NFL season, many wondered whether his days with the team that drafted him No. 1 overall in the 2010 draft were over.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch referred to Bradford’s future with the Rams as “uncertain” and spoke with the quarterback about the situation.
"With only one year left on his contract after this season, and due to make a $13 million base salary in 2015, Bradford’s future is uncertain in St. Louis. But that’s the furthest thing from his mind at this point.“You know, I can’t focus on that right now,” Bradford said. “I think it’s a little too soon. I haven’t even thought that far ahead. It’s still pretty hard to comprehend (the injury) right now.”"
As the Post-Dispatch hints at, Bradford’s salary is the real problem here. St.Louis drafted Bradford before recent adjustments were made to NFL rookie salaries, so they’ll have to pay a large chunk of change to keep him for another year.
Considering Bradford has underperformed during his first four years in the NFL and will see his second consecutive season end because of an injury, it’s likely the right move for the Rams to get rid of him once the 2015 offseason rolls around.
Bradford has passed for 11,065 yards, 50 touchdowns and 38 interceptions throughout his career.
The Rams will start Shaun Hill at quarterback in Bradford’s absence this year.
