Cooper finished strong at the end of last year with strong games against the Auburn Tigers and Oklahoma Sooners which gave him momentum into this season where he had 12 receptions in the opening week win against the West Virginia Mountaineers before tying DJ Hall’s school record set in 2007 against the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday.
In his last four games, Cooper has 40 receptions for 618 yards and two touchdowns. He has eclipsed the 100-yard mark each game and is one game away from tying Hall’s record for five straight 100-yard games. Cooper is the first receiver with four straight 100-yard games during Nick Saban’s tenure at Alabama.
Lane Kiffin has made feeding Cooper the ball a priority through the first two games of his career as the Alabama offensive coordinator and is the early leader for the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top receiver.
Cooper and the Tide won 41-0 after the game was called after a fourth quarter delay for lightning.
