College football odds & predictions for late Saturday

If you are not familiar with this, I pick every FBS vs. FBS game against the spread. No exceptions!

I take the mean of the odds at the top six Vegas casinos, and pick against that. They are all to the nearest half point, so there will be no pushes. Ties are for the NFL!

Here are my picks for Thursday and Friday. And for the earlier games. Here are the ones for the midday kickoffs.

As usual, this is for entertainment purposes only. I am not responsible for you losing your house, your first born, or any other worldly possession. I am a simple man. I cannot have that on my conscience. If I decide to place a wager on any of these, I won’t let it be known here.

Duke(-17.5) at Troy: This seems low considering how poor Troy looked last week. I’m a believer in the Duke offense. Give me Duke.

East Carolina at (21)South Carolina(-14.5): Way too high.  I wouldn’t be surprised at all if ECU won this.  They are that good.

Idaho at Louisiana-Monroe(-13.5): Let’s see here……Monroe beat Wake. There is no way that Idaho is anywhere near that. Monroe covers with ease!

(17)Arizona State(-24.5) at New Mexico: The Sun Devils look like an elite offensive unit so far. I have no reason not to pick them here. Give me ASU.

San Jose State at (5)Auburn(-34.5): With Marshall playing the entire game this week, it seems safe to take Auburn here. Give me Auburn.

Louisiana Tech at Louisiana-Lafayette(-15.5): Oklahoma made La Tech look bad last week, but are they more than two touchdowns worse than Lafayette? Probably. Give me Lafayette..

BYU at Texas(EVEN): Our first flat line of the year! Texas opened as five point favorites, but without Espinosa and David Ash, it fell. As it should. Texas is going to show up after getting blasted by BYU last year, but with five career starts on the O-line, and a QB making his first start, I have to go with BYU. Sorry Bevo.

Michigan at (16)Notre Dame(-3.5): This should be a close game, considering it is the end (for now) of a really good rivalry. That said, Notre Dame looks much better than Michigan. Give me the Irish. By four……

San Diego State at (22)North Carolina(-14.5): Okay, the Tarheels struggled against Liberty? Who? Exactly. Give me SDSU!

Virginia Tech at (8)Ohio State(-10.5): This is too many. VT has the defense, especially the corners, to make a young QB make critical mistakes. I would not be on bit surprised if the Buckeyes lost. Give me the Hokies.

Memphis at (11)UCLA(-22.5): Just because Virginia did a good job of shutting down UCLA doesn’t mean that a lot of teams can. This is way, way, WAY too low. UCLA might win by twice this!

Air Force(-1.5) at Wyoming: This is another line that has been all over the place. It opened with Wyoming the favorite, and has gone back and forth since. It is actually at it’s highest point for either side now. Oh well, I’m still taking Wyoming.

Colorado State at Boise State(-8.5): The Rams were impressive last week. Then again, Boise hung with Ole Miss for 50 minutes. I have to go with the experienced Boise offense here. Give me the Broncos.

Oregon State(-9.5) at Hawaii: The  Warriors looked very good last week against Washington, but the Beavers have some talented skill players on offense. Washington has a bunch of talented, yet inexperienced guys. Give me Oregon State for anything under ten.

Texas Tech(-21.5) at UTEP: There is no way UTEP is worse than the Central Arkansas team that TT struggled with. Give me the Miners.

Check back through Monday for my recaps of today’s games!
