The Mississippi State Bulldogs are getting all they can handle from the UAB Blazers at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville, Mississippi on Saturday, leading 26-20 at halftime.

More from College Football

Dak Prescott and Mississippi State began the scoring early with a 68-yard touchdown to wide receiver Robert Johnson to give the Dawgs a quick 7-0 lead that swelled to 13-3 after the first quarter. But then the Blazers offense woke up and promptly scored 17 of the next 23 points to take a brief 17-13 and 20-19 lead.

However, the home team rallied at the close of the first half with Gus Walley catching his first career pass that went for a 20-yard touchdown with 5:02 remaining to give State the lead back at 26-20.

Walley is a 6-4, 230-pound tight end from Richton, Mississippi and ran himself wide open for the go-ahead score as Prescott completed only his fifth pass on 14 first half attempts.

Will Mississippi State come out strong in front of the sellout crowd and put the game away or will the Blazers continue to make things difficult for Dan Mullen’s team today?
