The Florida Gators finally began their season one week after their scheduled debut was washed out last Saturday against the Idaho Vandals and the new offense waster little time showing off what they got.

More from College Football

First-year offensive coordinator Kurt Roper is the man responsible for getting the Gators offense back on track after a miserable year the year before. One of the players Roper has at his disposal is sophomore running back Kelvin Taylor who is in line for a monster second season.

Taylor, the son of former Florida great Fred Taylor, started off slow as a freshman before coming on late and he started out with a band this season with a 31-yard touchdown run one play after an Eastern Michigan fumble.

The duo of Taylor and Matt Jones who started when he was healthy last year could be a formidable duo to complement quarterback Jeff Driskel and put some points up on the scoreboard and get back to winning football in The Swamp.

Jones added a 40-yard touchdown run of his own after Taylor scored and these two could form a healthy competition to see who finished with the most yards and touchdowns this year. That will only make each other better and help Florida win more games.
