The UCLA Bruins not only entered the 2014 college football season as the favorite to win the Pac-12 Championship, but they are a trendy pick to make the inaugural College Football Playoff and several pundits believe the Bruins will win the 2014 National Championship.

With quarterback Brett Hundley and a very talented roster back for the Bruins, the hype surrounding them came as no surprise.
However, during their season-opener last week, a 28-20 victory over the Virginia Cavaliers, the Bruins did not look the part. They gained 358 yards of offense and Hundley completed 20-of-33 passes for 242 yards but they managed just one score on offense, a six-yard touchdown run by Hundley in the third quarter. Their defense returned two interceptions and a fumble for touchdowns in the first half, which is how they built a 21-3 advantage. Had the Cavaliers started Matt Johns, who threw two touchdown passes rather than Greyson Lambert, who threw two interceptions, it could have been a different story.
Of course, a win is a win and the Bruins will get back to work on Saturday night when they host the Memphis Tigers as they tune up for the showdown with the Texas Longhorns next week. The Tigers defeated Austin Peay 63-0 last week.
The Bruins are 24-point favorites.
