After an extremely impressive end to the 2013 season, the fourth-ranked Oklahoma Sooners are one of the favorites to win the 2014 National Title.

The Sooners ended the season with a last-second victory over the rival Oklahoma State Cowboys in the Bedlam Game, then followed that up with an even more impressive performance – the Sooners defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide 45-31 in the Sugar Bowl, arguably one of their best victories in years.
With Trevor Knight, who starred for the Sooners in their upset of the Tide, back for his redshirt sophomore season, most expect the Sooners to have one of the country’s best offenses. The Sooners showed a few glimpses of that high-powered offense in their 48-16 victory over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs a week ago. Knight completed 19-of-34 passes for 253 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Although those numbers were a bit pedestrian, the Sooners may have found their next star. Sophomore running Keith Ford rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns on just nine carries and caught another four passes for 65 yards.
The Golden Hurricanes defeated the Tulane Green Wave 38-31 in double overtime last Thursday.
The Sooners enter the matchup as 25-point favorites.
