One year ago, the Clemson Tigers were on top of the world having just knocked off the Georgia Bulldogs. This year, they are trying to pick up the pieces after a second half meltdown turned a 21-21 tie into a 45-21 Georgia victory.

On Saturday, the Tigers took their frustration out on the South Carolina State Bulldogs.

The Tigers got things going early, driving 68 yards in seven plays capped by a two-yard touchdown run from Adam Humphries. After managing only a field goal in the rest of the third quarter, freshman quarterback DeShaun Watson entered the game for Cole Stoudt he responded by throwing a seven-yard touchdown to Charone Peake. Stoudt responded with a 37-yard touchdown toss to Atravis Scott and by the end of the first half, the Tigers held a 34-0 lead.

Stoudt finished the day going 22-of-31 for 302 yards and the lone touchdown to Scott. Watson went on to toss two more scores, one to Scott and one to Jay Jay McCullough. Watson went eight-of-nine for 154 yards with three touchdowns while Scott caught six passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns.

The Tigers rolled up 735 total yards while the Bulldogs managed just 44 in what was obviously a giant mismatch.

The Tigers tried to call off the dogs, inserting Nick Schuessler into the game at quarterback, but they added 16 more points in the fourth quarter to make it 73-0. The Bulldogs got on the board on a 35-yard fumble return for a touchdown by Dominique Mitchell to avoid the shutout.

The Tigers will get a week off before traveling south to Tallahassee, Florida to take on the top-ranked Florida State Seminoles in what should be the biggest ACC game of the year. The Bulldogs will be at Coastal Carolina to take on the Chanticleers.
