The South Carolina Gamecocks will look to get their first win on the season Saturday when they welcome in the East Carolina Pirates into Williams-Brice Stadium for a Week 2 match up.

Coming into the season the Gamecocks were considered by many as a favorite in the SEC, however they were knocked off of their pedestal very early in their opener against the Texas A&M Aggies. When it was all said and done, they were blown out by the Aggies, 52-28, and it was clearly evident that the defensive unit is an issue.
They allowed A&M sophomore QB Kenny Hill to throw for over 500 yards on the night and they were not able to get any sort of significant pass rush going. They weren’t terrible on offense, but defensively they let that one get out of hand quickly.
They won’t have a much easier time on Saturday, as East Carolina QB Shane Carden is considered on of the most efficient at his position in the nation.
