The Wisconsin Badgers were able to bounce back from their heartbreaking opening week loss to LSU last Saturday with a convincing win over Western Illinois, although their best player on offense, running back Melvin Gordon, did not have a particularly good day.

More from College Football

On the afternoon in the win, Gordon was held to just a mediocre 38 yards on 17 carries, which has definitely raised a few more eyebrows and will add to the talk that bean last week about something just not being right with the Heisman contender.

In the loss to LSU last weekend in Texas, while Gordon did break the century mark rushing the ball against the Tigers, head coach Gary Andersen took the ball out of his hands down the stretch, which had everyone talking throughout the week about whether or not there is a problem in the relationship between Gordon and the coach.

Both Andersen and Gordon shot down that talk throughout the week, however this outing on Saturday will certainly have the media in a stir once again.

Nonetheless, the Badgers were able to get the win in this one, and they now move to 1-1 on the season as they look to run the table and put the events of last weekend behind them.
