Noll passed away earlier this year at the age of 82.
During the 2014-15 NFL regular season, the Steelers players will be wearing a patch with the initials “CHN” for Charles Henry Noll.
Cowher was wearing a jacket with the “CHN” pin on it during the broadcast, and we got a closeup during his little tribute before sending us to kickoff for the Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns Week 1 matchup at Heinz Field.
Cowher then finished up by delivering a message to Noll’s family.
During his career as the Pittsburgh Steelers head coach, Chuck Noll won four AFC Championships and four Super Bowl titles. Noll was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1993. Cowher replaced Noll and led the Steelers franchise to a Super Bowl title of his own.
