The second week of the college football season saw teams ranked in the top-13 lose on Saturday as the No. 7 Michigan State Spartans lost to the No. 3 Oregon Ducks, the No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes lost to the Virginia Tech Hokies and the No. 13 Stanford Cardinal lost to the No. 14 USC Trojans.

Today’s top 25 AP poll should see USC and the LSU Tigers move up from No. 14 and No. 12, respectively and inside the top-10 and the Buckeyes take the biggest drop in the poll, according to Jerry Hinnen of CBS Sports.

1. Florida State Seminoles (1). The Seminoles beat the Citadel 37-12. Something tells us that maybe they didn’t try quite as hard as they could have.

2. Alabama Crimson Tide (2). Alabama led 21-0 at the end of the first quarter in a game that was, somehow, not nearly as close as the lightning-shortened 41-0 final.

3. Oregon Ducks (3). So much for having trouble with tough, powerful defensive teams, huh? The Ducks blistered Michigan State for 28 consecutive second-half points, turning what seemed like a potential Spartan upset into a smashing runaway Oregon victory. Welcome to playoff pole position, Ducks.

4. Oklahoma Sooners (4). The Sooners destroyed Tulsa on the road. The jury is decidedly out on how good either the Golden Hurricane or Week 1 victim Louisiana Tech are, but thus far Trevor Knight and Bob Stoops’ team have looked as good as advertised.

5. Auburn Tigers (5). 492 yards for the Tigers, yielding 59 points. Fairly efficient offensive production, that.

6. Georgia Bulldogs (6). Bulldogs were on a bye, prepping for the annual early-season grudge match with South Carolina.

7. Texas A&M Aggies (9). A&M blasted FCS Lamar as expected, winning 73-3. Go ahead and get your “but it’s Lamar! He’s just one guy! That’s not fair!” jokes out of your system now.

8. Baylor Bears (10). The Bears didn’t have Bryce Petty this week, but they did have Northwestern State — a lower-rung FCS program — as an opponent. They were more than fine.

9. USC Trojans (14). The Trojans didn’t exactly make it look easy in Palo Alto, but when you’re talking about knocking off a fellow top-15 team on the road, there’s no room for complaint. The Trojans are officially in the Pac-12 title mix.

10. LSU Tigers (12). The Tigers brushed aside FCS Sam Houston State with ease, winning 56-0. At least Leonard Fournette provided a memorable moment.

11. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (16).

12. UCLA Bruins (11).

13. Michigan State Spartans (7).

14. Ole Miss Rebels (15).

15. Stanford Cardinal (13)

16. Arizona State Sun Devils (17).

17. Wisconsin Badgers (18).

18. Nebraska Cornhuskers (19).

19. Kansas State Wildcats (20).

20. Ohio State Buckeyes (8).

21. Missouri Tigers (24).

22. Virginia Tech Hokies (NR).

23. South Carolina Gamecocks (21-tie).

24. Clemson Tigers (23).

25. Louisville Cardinals (25).

Dropped from projected rankings: North Carolina

Also under consideration: Penn State
