Dez Bryant gets crushed on Tony Romo interception (GIF)

Dez Bryant is going to be a big part of the Dallas Cowboys’ offense in 2014, but not if Tony Romo keeps hanging him out to dry like he did in the first quarter of the team’s season opener against the San Francisco 49ers.

Instead of hitting Terrance Williams on a deep post for what could have been a huge gain, Romo forced the ball into triple-coverage.
49ers safety Eric Reid picked off the pass and returned it to the one-yard line which set up a touchdown pass from Colin Kaepernick to tight end Vernon Davis.
It was the second touchdown for San Francisco off of a Cowboys turnover, as they went up 21-3 just minutes into the game.
Even worse for the Cowboys was that Bryant got blasted by 49ers safety Antoine Bethea during the play.
The good news for Dallas is that Bryant got up — even though it was slowly — and returned to the field for the next series after trying to fire up his team.
Romo just needs to make sure he doesn’t leave his star wideout vulnerable like that too often.
