The Florida Gators posted an easy 65-0 win over Eastern Michigan on Saturday, but suffered a big loss when transfer tight end Jake McGee was lost for the year with a broken tibia and fibula.
Coach Will Muschamp told reporters after the game that McGee will miss the remainder of the season (per GatorBait.net).
"“We lost Jake McGee for the year. Broken tibia and fibula. So disappointed for him, a guy that came in here and, very difficult to come into a situation for one year. He has done it as well as you can imagine. … This guy is a total team guy. Tough guy.”"
McGee transferred to Florida from Virginia after graduating in May.

McGee had 43 receptions for 395 yards and two touchdowns last season for the Cavaliers and as a two-year starter at Virginia had 71 catches for 769 yards and seven touchdowns.
McGee was carted off the field in the second quarter after an Eastern Michigan player rolled onto McGee’s leg after being blocked and pushed to the ground.
Clay Burton is No. 1 on the depth chart at tight end for Florida, but McGee’s loss leaves the Gators with depth concerns at the position.
Burton had seven receptions for 42 yards in the pasting of the Eagles. Florida (1-0) opens SEC play next Saturday at The Swamp against Kentucky.
