Fred Jackson sets up game winning field goal for Buffalo Bills over Chicago (Video)
Fred Jackson helped the Buffalo Bills to a huge victory over the Chicago Bears Sunday when he ran a huge 38-yard rush to the one-yard line that later set up Dan Carpenter’s game winning field goal.
Jackson ran up the middle and then cut left where he found wide open field with just Bears safety Chris Conte to get through. Jackson then laid a Marshawn Lynch-style stiff arm on Conte pushing him away and eventually to the ground before Jackson was stopped trying to lunge into the end zone one the 1-yard line.
The run was set up by a big pass from Bills quarterback E.J. Manuel to receiver Mike Williams for a 20 yard gain. Jackson ran for five yards and then was given the ball again and blew the game wide open that led to a 27-yard game winning field goal in overtime over Chicago.
Kicker Dan Carpenter added the exclamation point as he nailed the 27-yard field goal attempt right down the middle leading the Bills to a victory at Chicago’s Soldier Field.
The Bills (1-0) will look to keep it going next week against the Miami Dolphins (1-0) while the Bears (0-1) will try to bounce back next week at San Fransisco.
