Mike Adams proved that helmets fly around just as much as bodies do and it’s especially bad when you lose your helmet and it flies around without you attached to it. That’s what happened to Adams on Sunday night as he brought down an attempt by the Broncos to score but failed to keep his helmet on during the process.
Given all the concern that there has been about head injuries in the NFL, you’d think there might be a way to enforce a better system of players keeping their helmets on. That being said, you can’t fault a guy for getting sandwiched and having his helmet get ripped off as it doesn’t seem pleasant or free of pain.
