Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III met with the media following the team’s loss to the Houston Texans to kick off the 2014-15 NFL regular season.

Griffin completed 29-of-37 passing for just 267 yards. He took three sacks, and was unable to find the endzone. The QBR for Griffin was an uninspiring 29.7.
The Redskins had plenty of issues all over the field, but Griffin said that the team will be unable to improve if he cannot do so first.
“I don’t think them coming out and playing the coverage they did led to us having six points on the board. I think that was more us hurting ourselves. Like I said, I have to play better for us to win football games,” Griffin said, via the Washington Post.
“What you’re trying to say is everybody knew Jordan was going to shoot the fadeaway, but Jordan still shot the fadeaway. We’ll find ways to get our guys in a position to make those plays down the field even if they are playing those coverages, but we aren’t going to come out next week and heave ho and throw 30 deep balls.”
The Redskins are used to struggling over the past two seasons, so hopefully Griffin will be able to return to the level he was performing at during his rookie year so the team can begin improving.
