Tampa Bay Buccaneers OC Jeff Tedford won’t call plays vs. Panthers
By Josh Hill
The NFL season is getting underway this afternoon but not everyone is going to be helping out in a full capacity. While players suffer in juries that take them out of action, coaches on the sidelines are not immune to missing time either.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Jeff Tedford needed a medical procedure during training camp that took him off the sidelines and out of action for the Bucs, but he’s expected to be back this afternoon against the Carolina Panthers. That being said though, Jay Galzer from FOX Sports is reporting that Tedford won’t be calling plays for the Bucs and instead he’ll be handing that duty over to his quarterbacks coach.
Tedford’s new offense seems ready to explode as he has twin tower receivers in Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans, a veteran quarterback his head coach loves in Josh McCown and a stout running attack led by the pint sized speedster Doug Martin.
It’s a long season, and Tedford’s health at this point is much more important than a game, but he’s still showing up which shows the grit in this Buccaneers team is vintage at it’s finest.
