The San Francisco 49ers are doing their best Baylor impression on the Dallas Cowboys defense. Colin Kaepernick hit Anquan Boldin for 37 yards right before the 29 yard strike to Davis to put the 49ers up 14-3

On the next play, Vernon Davis did his work:

Just over 90 seconds later, Davis was in the end zone again, this time on a two yard strike from Kaepernick to give the 49ers a 21-3 lead.

In the first quarter, Kaepernick was 4-4 for 75 yards and two touchdowns. Even though the Niners had the ball for just 94 seconds in the entire quarter. Not a bad day at the office.

Including the playoffs, Vernon Davis has more touchdown catches than anyone else in the NFL at 53. Calvin Johnson has 52. Of course, Twitter had a lot to say about Davis’s quarter.

Cowboy fans were expecting a long season defensively, but if their first quarter was this bad, they have nowhere to go but up, right?
