Cowboys’ DeMarco Murray bemoans lack of red zone touches
By Mike Dyce
The Dallas Cowboys shot themselves in the foot on Sunday. Earlier turnovers in the game essentially handed the San Francisco 49ers the win, though the Cowboys still had opportunities and could have won.

Some of their struggles came in the red zone, where they settled for a field goal and threw an interception. Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray said after the game he feels like they should’ve been running the ball more in the red zone.
“I always want it, but especially in those situations,” Murray said, via the Cowboys’ website. “I have confidence in the O-line and I definitely have confidence in myself that we can get it. But Scott (Linehan)’s calling the plays and he knows what’s best for the offense. Whatever it is, I’m going to do it to the best of my ability, as well as the other 10 guys.”
It is the same criticism the Cowboys’ play-calling had last year and with Murray averaging a staggering 5.4 yards per carry in the game, why not let Murray punch it in. Murray feels like the Cowboys left some opportunities on the table.
“We definitely left some opportunities,” Murray said. “It’s a learning experience. We’ve got to watch film and see what we did badly and get it corrected. They played a good game defensively, the 49ers, and our defense gave us plenty of chances to put points on the board. We have to finish every drive…We just didn’t do that today.”
