Is Denver Nuggets’ Timofey Mozgov worth a first round pick?
After signing the game’s best player, forward LeBron James, and trading for power forward Kevin Love, the Cleveland Cavaliers have become the favorite to win the NBA Title. Of course, they aren’t without their weaknesses and rim protection may be their biggest issue. That’s why the Cavaliers have reportedly offered the Denver Nuggets a first round pick for center Timofey Mozgov.

Chuck Myron of Hoops Rumors was asked if Mozgov is worth a first round pick.
"You’d have to give up more than that, David, to make the salaries match (as you should know, ha!). Considering your 2015 first-rounder should be pretty far down the order (especially since the Bulls have the right to swap first-round picks with the Cavs for next year), I’d have no problem giving that one up as long as I wasn’t letting go of a guy like Thompson or Waiters. But those would be the type of players Denver would ask for, which is why I don’t see a deal, at least for now."
Myron has a solid point – the Nuggets would likely ask for a bigger return and the Cavaliers probably don’t want to give up a pick and a talent like guard Dion Waiters or big man Tristan Thompson (although there are several reports that Thompson is very available) meaning there likely won’t be any deal.
Last season, Mozgov averaged 9.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 52.3% from the field and 75.4% from the free throw line. In his four-year NBA career, Mozgov has averaged 6.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per game while shooting 51.5% from the floor and 73.9% from the charity stripe.
