Both Detroit Pistons’ big man Greg Monroe and Phoenix Suns’ guard Eric Bledsoe are what you could call disgruntled free agents. The two restricted free agents haven’t gotten the offers they’d like and Monroe has signed his qualifying offer in order to become a free agent next year. Many believe that Bledsoe will now do the same.

However, Chuck Myron of Hoops Rumors believes Bledsoe may not take the same risk as Monroe and sign the qualifying offer.

"It’s a little trickier in Bledsoe’s case because his QO is for nearly $2MM less, and he doesn’t have the track record of health to fall back on that Monroe does. What happens if Bledsoe hurts his knee again this year? His offer from the Suns isn’t as lucrative as what the Pistons were willing to give Monroe, however, so the sacrifice might be about the same in terms of money for this season. I wonder if the Pistons, who have a ton of cap space now, might float an offer Bledsoe’s way. They don’t have enough to give him the max, but they can come pretty close."

Bringing up the money and the injury history is a good point – Bledsoe will likely try to pry more money away from the Suns and sign long-term.

Bledsoe averaged 17.7 points, 5.5 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 47.7% from the field, 35.7% from beyond the arc and 77.2% from the free throw line last season. Bledsoe, who was the 18th-overall pick of the 2010 NBA Draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder (he was immediately dealt to the Los Angeles Clippers) has put up 8.7 points, 3.4 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 44.5% from the floor, 32.7% from three and 75.9% from the charity stripe.
