Jerry Jones not concerned with fan ratio at Cowboys’ games

One of the biggest criticisms against the Dallas Cowboys organization, though not entirely in their control, is the ratio of fans at games. Namely that visiting teams seem to enjoy a neutral field environment at AT&T Stadium instead of a rowdy pro-Cowboys crowd.

That was evident with all the red in the stands for the Cowboys’ season opening game against the San Francisco 49ers, and the fans were loud.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones isn’t concerned with Cowboys fans being outnumbered in their own stadium though.

“In a game like this, or any game, I just pay attention to the field,” Jones said, via the Dallas Morning News. “Somebody else asked me that a minute ago, and I won’t get into that until sometime during this week but I’ll probably get any data that we get on that. But that’s not something that I would really pay a lot of attention to and the only thing I’m paying attention to is maybe the crowd noise when we got possession or we’re trying to keep them from making a first down in a tight situation. I think you asked… We’ve talked about that. No, I don’t have any knowledge or information about the ratio of fans.”

Of course Jones isn’t concerned, the 49ers fans pay just as much as Cowboys fans and it doesn’t matter who is buying tickets so long as it keeps funneling into Jerry’s wallet.
